Overview

Overview of Langtang valley trek

The Langtang valley is one of the wonderful places in Nepal and is also less recognized by most trekkers. Many people know about Everest Base Camp Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek, and Annapurna Base Camp Trek but there are only a few trekkers who have explored the Langtang Valley and have done Langtang Valley Trek. Langtang Valley Trek is perfect for those trekkers who are beginners, who want to introduce themselves to Nepal and for those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of Nepal on short days.
Langtang Valley Trek is one of the short treks of Nepal that passes through the Rhododendron, oak, maple and bamboo forest, mesmerizing waterfalls, charming villages, rivers, beautiful farmlands and magnificent snowcapped mountains. We will also visit Langtang National Park- a natural countryside with appealing flora and fauna, yak pastures and local cheese factories! Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan bears, monkeys, and the elusive red panda, are native to this region.
Langtang Valley Trek starts with visiting Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The next day we will drive to Syabrubesi. With the help of our route map, we begin trekking from the lower region of the Langtang Valley along with small adorable villages, enchanting farmlands and flourishing forests to ancient monasteries Kyangjin Gompa. We will also climb Tserko Ri at 5000m to have a glimpse of the best sunrise views over the Langtang ranges. The majestic views on this trek include Dorje Lakpa (6,990m), Langtang Ri (6,370m) and Langtang Lirung (7,245m). The region's border is one of the main trading routes but it has no effect on local culture. We can still enjoy the local culture and traditions of people. And we came back to Kathmandu after collecting a lot of beautiful memories from Langtang Valley.
Langtang Village was totally destroyed during the April 2015 earthquake but the locals have rebuilt some teahouses and lodges. Trekking to this beautiful Langtang valley will always help locals to make some money and rebuild teahouses, lodges and hotels in a sustainable way.
Open Trail Treks provide you with a local guide and leaders so that you can know about the Langtang Valley more. Open Trail Treks also arranges this Langtang Valley Trek in a reasonable cost as well as we also follow all the safety measures for the trek. We offer our visitors a, license holder, trained, knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and careful guide and the porters or helpers. If you want to do Langtang Valley Trek, feel free to contact us..

Accommodation During Trekking
During the trek, we will be staying at local teahouses. These offer accommodation and food served in a dining room which also functions as a social meeting place for other trekkers. All accommodation is on a twin shared basis. A single room is usually available at a little extra cost. The tour guide will arrange the best available accommodation in each village. As we advance to higher and more remote villages it may occasionally be necessary to share a room with more than 2 people. During the treks, most of the bathroom and toilet facilities are shared and the toilet can be either a squat or a western toilet.

Meals During Trekking
In Kathmandu, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food such as Thali and Momo at a traditional Nepalese restaurant. For instance, a Newari restaurant is a special place serving Newari food (the Newari are the indigenous people of the Kathmandu valley). Newari food is famous and unique. During the trek, we will eat traditional Nepalese food as well as more international cuisine (Tibetan, Indian, Italian, and continental). Dinner and breakfast will be taken at the teahouse where we spend the night and lunch at one of the trail teahouses.
