“Beautiful Everst <3”

Had an amazing adventure with Mahesh (and Jakurt (porter)) to Everest Base Camp! Mahesh is a good guide, who is realy open about talking about Nepali culture. He was also open for changing our route as we were walking. His english is good too! I loved that we were in a group of only 5 people ( included guide and porter). Jakurt was the smiliest man I ever met! Thank you for an unforettable experience! Team Raksi <3 Visited September 2015

“Don't look any further for a guide”

Finding a guide for a multi-day trek in the himalayas can be intimidating. My wife and I spent the better part of three days in Kathmandu trying to find a guide for the EBC trek. We chose Mahesh and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made in a year of round-the-world travel. Mahesh is incredibly knowledgeable in the mountains, he is well-versed on local cultures, customs, and history, and overall just a great guy. I had altitude sickness for a few days and he kept us calm and knew exactly how to handle the situation. We were able to take the necessary precautions and eventually made it to base camp. After our trek, we met Mahesh again in Pokhara. 18 months later, we still keep in touch and have recommended him for other friends who have the same sentiments we do. In short, if you are looking for a great overall guide at a fair price, don't look any further. Mahesh is incredible. Visited April 2015

“We came to explore as tourists, but Open Trail treks. made us see as locals!”

This was a really good experience. Mahesh and the Open Trek team helped us explore Nepal the honest way. The nature was beautiful, and Mahesh introduced us to the Nepalese society, the food and the local treks. We felt safe, taken care of, and knew that he would handle our every need. I considered giving a 4 star interview, but quickly found out that its not Open Trail Treks responsibility that the toilets in Nepal are the way they are... Visited June 2015

We have just come back from the most wonderful trekking experience in Nepal. First time Trekkers in our late 60's we were rather apprehensive but what a fantastic trip. We were so lucky to have Mahesh from Open Trail Treks as our guide. He met us at the airport and nothing was too much trouble for him and our porter Ram. Lovely hotels in Kathmandu and Pohkera and really good tea houses along the trek. Mahesh is so full of information about his lovely country and it made our trip so special. Open Trail Treks really knows how to look after its clients and we can't wait to do a second trek with them.

“Annapurna and Mustang Districts with Mahesh Nepal, an excellent Guide and Planner”

I found Mahesh Nepal in Kathmandu and asked him to plan a trip lasting 16 days for me with just one requirement, that it include a visit to the Annapurna base camp. He planned an excellent trip that took in Annapurna and parts of the Mustang District. He even made sure we joined up with his cousin and his cousin's client along the way to make the trip even more interesting and fun. Mahesh went out of his way to make this trip unforgettable. As well as some tough but rewarding climbs he made sure to include some natural hot spring visits, orange and apple picking, Carrom playing and singing along the way. We even spent a day volunteering and teaching English in a local school. I highly recommend Open Trail Treks as this company has an excellent guide working with them, Mahesh Nepal.

“Prime time”

Went to Nepal off-season to trek with a friend. Originally we planed on going on our own, but we met Mahesh and got convinced he was worth the extra cost, something i will never regret. Mahesh guided us over the mountains and made us feel safe with his knowledge and experience. In addition to great guiding, Mahesh is a great interlocutor. He teached me about his culture and his ways, and was interested in me as well. I planed on a world class trek, and oh boy it was. After 3 weeks in the mountains, I went home with some great memories and a new friend.
