Trekking

Uppar Dolpa Trek

Dolpo is located in the Tibetan Plateau. It is one of the least developed areas in Nepal. The whole district was closed for the trekkers till 1989. This region remained unexplored by outsiders due to geographical complexities, underdevelopment and tourist restriction. People here widely follow the Tibetan culture in this region. Since 1984, it has been declared as the country’s largest national park and is home of different species of wildlife like Himalayan Blue Sheep, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer etc. Their main economics source is trading of Tibetan stones, medicinal herbs, barley, rice, wheat, yak and sheep.
This trek passes through wonderful and adventurous places. We can encounter many wild animals, amazing people and landscapes, forests of the Rhododendron, Oak and Pine. We also pass through the high mountain Pass of Numala(5400m).

Accommodation During Trekking
We will be staying at 3 star hotel in Kathmandu. During the treks, we will be staying at the local tea house. The tea house offers accommodation and food with the restaurant service. All the accommodations are the twin-shared basis. A single room will be served upon the request but it will cost extra. Open Trail Treks will arrange the best accommodation on the available at the place. As we go higher during trekking, we may have to share a room with more than 2 people. During the trek, most of the bathroom and toilet are shared and toilet can be either squat or western toilet.

Meals During Trekking
In Kathmandu we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food such as Thali and Momo at a traditional Nepalese restaurant. For instance the Newari restaurant is a special place serving Newari food (the Newari are the indigenous people of the Kathmandu valley). Newari food is famous and unique. During the trek we will eat traditional Nepalese food as well as more international cuisine (Tibetan, Indian, Italian and continental). Dinner and breakfast will be taken at the teahouse where we spend the night and lunch at one of the trail teahouses.
