Over view of Langtang valley with Gosainkunda lake trek

Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu trek is one of the famous treks to explore endangered animals like red panda and many more. This trail is located on the north side of the Kathmandu valley. The Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu trek is less crowded trek than other treks of Nepal so this trek can be good choice for many trekkers.
Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu treks start after 9 hours drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. After having a scenic drive from Kathmandu we will visit charming Langtang valley. During spring season Langtang valley is fully surrounded by mountainous wildflowers and the woods are multi-coloured with colourful rhododendron, orchid magnolia and many other floral species. This trek also passes through Langtang National Park which is home to musk deer, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, Himalayan wild goat and particularly birds and wildflowers. We will also taste local yak cheese in Kyanjin Gompa. We will pass through Nubamatang, a hidden valley, on our way up to look at the glaciers, which is also the gateway into Tilman col, a high mountaineering route to Jugal Himal that crosses a steep and difficult icefall on the south side. We can also hike to Kyanjing Ri or Tsergo Ri (Cherko Ri) which offer spectacular views of Naya Kanga (5,846m), Ponggen Dopku (5,930m), Mt Langtang Lirung (7245m), Yala peak, Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Urkeinmang (6387m), Loenpo Gang (6979) and Kangchenpo.
From Kyanjin Gompa a serious 5,100 m pass leads down into the Helambu valley, whilst back down the Langtang Valley, a trail leads up past Sing Gompa to the Gosaikunda Lake. Gosaikunda Lake lies 4,460m above sea level. Gosaikunda Lake which is also known as Nilkantha Lake is a holy lake for Hindus and Buddhists. Gosaikunda trek is very popular for its natural beauty and delightful climate with breathtaking views of incredible snowcapped mountains and as well as Tibetan Buddhism culture. Gosaikunda trek is an easy trail but the steep climbs and stiff descents which pass through deep forests or across glaciers and moraines can be challenging for beginner trekkers. After crossing the Laurebena Pass (4610m), we continue south, leaving the Langtang region behind us as we travel through the Helambu valley. From here, it’s just a few days' treks back to Kathmandu.
Trekking with Open Trail Treks is always fun because of our friendly staff. Open Trail Treks arranges Langtang-Gosaikunda-Helambu treks at a reasonable cost as well as we also follow all the safety measures for the trek. Accommodation During Trekking
During the trek, we will be staying at local teahouses. These offer accommodation and food served in a dining room which also functions as a social meeting place with other trekkers. All accommodation is on a twin shared basis. A single room is usually available at a little extra cost. The tour guide will arrange the best available accommodation in each village. As we advance to higher and more remote villages it may occasionally be necessary to share a room with more than 2 people. During the treks, most of the bathroom and toilet facilities are shared and the toilet can be either a squat or a western toilet.

Meals During Trekking
In Kathmandu, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food such as Thali and Momo at a traditional Nepalese restaurant. For instance, a Newari restaurant is a special place serving Newari food (the Newari are the indigenous people of the Kathmandu valley). Newari food is famous and unique. During the trek, we will eat traditional Nepalese food as well as more international cuisine (Tibetan, Indian, Italian, and continental). Dinner and breakfast will be taken at the teahouse where we spend the night and lunch at one of the trail teahouses.
